✨️AMAZING GUARDIAN HOME OPPORTUNITY : OPEN TO GUARDIAN HOMES FOR 1 FEMALE (F1)✨️
Guardian homes are the extended family of Better with a Bernedoodle
Those amazing families are the heart and soul of our program. Without them, we wouldn't be able to be who we are today, and we will forever be grateful for them. They become very close friends and we treat them like family!
WHAT IS A GUARDIAN HOME?
• A Guardian home is someone or a family who opens their heart and home for one of our breeding dogs (male or female). They care and love the dog as their own. Once the dog is retired, ownership is transferred to the Guardian family and the dog can continue living it's happy life with them!
WHY DON'T YOU KEEP ALL OF YOUR BREEDING DOGS IN YOUR HOME?
• We believe that all of our dogs deserve the best life possible, while being showered with all the attention and care they deserve. All of our males are already in amaaaaazing Guardian homes, so they can live their regular happy life, 100% stress free (we all know how crazy stressed out a male dog can get around a female in heat, and we just don't want that for them). Don't get me wrong, we would absolutely LOVE to have plenty of dogs in our home, but it wouldn't be realistic for us to care for all of them properly, and it wouldn't be fair to them either. So, we decided that for our family, the magic number is four. We have four beautiful girls living with us at the moment that we raised from puppies, but we know they are not getting any younger and will have to be spayed sooner than later. Our girls are family, and we absolutely can't see ourselves rehoming them, so we will not add any more dogs into our home while our girls are still with us. That being said, in order to continue breeding these amazing dogs, we decided that putting our additional and future males/females in Guardian homes was the best!
HOW MUCH IS A BREEDING DOG WORTH?
We only get our dogs from trusted breeders who also health test their breeding dogs, or we keep our own puppies when we can. That being said, they're not free. We have to pay pet price + breeding rights when we buy puppies from other breeders, so all of our dogs are anywhere from $6000-8000, and that's not including the price of health testing.
HOW TO BECOME A GUARDIAN HOME?
• Those interested must fill out an application (found at the bottom of this page). We realize there are lots of requirements in order to become a Guardian family, and it's not a decision that should be taken lightly. Our breeding dogs not only hold a high monetary value, but they deserve the absolute best, so we are ready to wait for the most amazing families for them!
REQUIREMENTS FOR GUARDIAN HOMES?
✨️Guardians must have the dog live in their home, as part of the family.
✨️Guardians must live within 1hr from our house (Berry Mills, NB --> 5mins past the Moncton Casino). If you live further, that's no problem, but you MUST be ok with bringing them to our house when needed or meet halfway, NO exceptions.
✨️Guardians must have a fenced in yard (mandatory for females), or a trusted device to keep the dog from running away (males).
✨️ Guardian preference will be given to families who work from home or have someone at home at least part of the day (especially for females)
✨️Guardians are strongly encouraged to pay for insurance, although it's not mandatory (you will be responsible in covering costs for emergencies, if they're not related to breeding). If an emergency arises and Guardians can't pay for vet care, the Breeder will take possession of the dog immediately.
✨️Guardians must bring the guardian dog to a groomer regularly (every 8-10 weeks) and maintain a healthy coat.
✨️Guardians must feed Inukshuk Marine 16 (you can buy bags from us, at a much cheaper price), or any other high quality foods approved by the Breeder (NO grain free, NO peas).
✨️Guardians must stay up to date on vaccines/dewormers and yearly check ups at the guardian's expense (unless breeding related).
✨️ Guardians must be a non-smoking home
✨️ Guardians must not have other dogs who are not spayed or neutered.
✨️ Guardians must be willing to train the dog basic commands and good behavior, like you would for any pet.
✨️For breedings :
• MALES will have to come over at the time of breeding, and will stay with us for 3-5 days approximately, before being returned to his Guardian family.
• FEMALES will need to come over maximum 10 days after they have started their heat cycle, and will stay for about 3-5 days approximately, before being returned to their guardian homes.
✨️For deliveries :
• When females are maximum 6 days away from their due date, the females must come to our house and stay with us under our care until the puppies are 8 weeks old. Families are ALWAYS welcome to visit but arrangements must be made prior to visiting.
✨️If the female is deemed healthy to do so, Guardians must agree to let the females have 4 litters before the Breeder retires her (number of litters will be determined by the Breeder only). Females are usually retired before their 5th birthday, and males at maximum 8 years old.
CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN PUPPY?
• You can't pick your own puppy, but you will get the "pick of the litter", chosen by the Breeder. When choosing a breeding dog, we look for specific traits. Our breeding dogs are premium dogs, and temperament and health are our top priority when adding a puppy to our program!
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
• Chosen Guardian homes are required to pay a small deposit of $1200 on their dog. This deposit will eventually be returned to the Guardian (conditions apply), meaning the dog could be completely free of charge.
• Health testing can start once the dog reaches 6 months of age, and will be paid by the Breeder.
• If the dog is not used in the breeding program for any reason, the security deposit won't be returned, and the Guardian family can keep their dog as a pet, at a fraction of the cost. If the dog has to retire early, the Breeder will keep the remainder of the security deposit and the Guardian home can keep the dog as their pet.

If the dogs have to retire before being bred, the deposit won't be refunded and the family can keep the dog as their family pet.
If the dog has to retire early (decision only the Breeder can make), the remainder of the deposit will be kept by the breeder and the family can keep the dog as their pet.
✨️ Provide lifetime support for the dog
